Information about rising tea prices

Thank you very much for your continued patronage of our store.
In recent years, the prices of raw materials for not only matcha but also green tea in general, including sencha and hojicha, have risen significantly.

In particular, from the new tea (first tea) harvest in 2025 onwards, the market price of sencha has been projected to reach approximately 1.5 to 2 times the previous year's price, making it extremely difficult to procure.

Main factors behind price hikes

• Yield decline due to bad weather in early spring

• Declining production due to aging and declining tea farmers

• Rapid increase in overseas exports and tourism demand

• Farmers switch from sencha to matcha raw material (tencha)

These factors have combined to create the biggest raw material shortages and price hikes in decades.

We have tried to keep prices as constant as possible, but in order to ensure stable supply and maintain quality, we are forced to revise the prices of some products.
