Wazuka Town, where tea fields spread across the landscape and which is even called "Chagenkyo" (Tea Utopia), is characterized by its abundant rainfall, large temperature differences between day and night, and well-drained, fertile soil. It also benefits from the Wazuka River, which is an upstream tributary of the Kizu River. With morning river mist, Wazuka Town offers an unparalleled environment for tea cultivation. Its tea production accounts for half of all Uji tea. Its history as a Japanese tea production area is ancient, dating back to the Kamakura period.
Amidst the establishment of high-quality tea production and supply systems, tea fields were developed using a method called "mountain-slope reclamation" that utilized the terrain, thus forming the landscape. Even today, this tradition is carried on, producing a diverse range of high-quality teas.

When I was a child, tea was a familiar presence, brewed at home. When we visited relatives, it was a given that they would serve tea brewed in a teapot, and I remember the taste and aroma of tea being an integral part of family gatherings. However, now tea bags and bottled tea beverages account for the majority of tea consumption, and fewer households own teapots. People in their teens to thirties, in particular, have become less familiar with teapots, and I sense that the custom of "brewing tea and taking a moment to relax" is beginning to disappear. What we want to offer is that peaceful family time. We hope to convey the joy of tea through flexible methods that suit the times, and preserve the rich lifestyle that includes tea.
