Shizuoka

Shizuoka Prefecture is one of Japan's leading tea producing regions, accounting for approximately 40% of the national share in terms of tea cultivation area, fresh leaf harvest volume, and crude tea production volume. Shizuoka tea is known as one of Japan's three most famous teas (Shizuoka tea, Uji tea, and Sayama tea). It is characterized by its deep, mellow aroma and rich flavor, achieved through the deep steaming method.
