Organic tea leaves, grown under the long hours of sunlight, allow you to experience the natural, authentic flavor of tea.

We've blended domestic organic green tea with domestic organic matcha to create a convenient matcha green tea teabag with a distinct tea bitterness and a mellow flavor.

 Furthermore, with environmental considerations in mind, the teabag material is made from plant-derived biodegradable biomass plastic that decomposes naturally through the action of microorganisms, returning to nature.

【Inspiration for Product Development】

In recent years, in the Japanese tea market, there has been a growing demand for products that are not only delicious but also safer and more secure. In response to these consumer demands, we aimed to create products that prioritize the natural flavor of tea leaves, without relying on chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and have developed teabags using organically grown tea leaves.

●Uses only organic ingredients

This is an Organic JAS*-certified product, using organic ingredients for all raw materials, including green tea and matcha sencha.

*Organic JAS: Only certified businesses that conduct production deemed suitable for food produced by natural forces without relying on chemical substances such as pesticides and chemical fertilizers can apply the Organic JAS mark. It is legally prohibited to use names like "organic" or "organic" or misleading labels on foods that do not have the "Organic JAS mark."

●Suitable for individual use and small demands

In recent years, the demand for brewing large quantities of tea in a teapot or kettle has been decreasing, due to the tendency for individuals to choose their preferred items even within the household, and the increase in elderly households. Considering opinions such as wanting to drink small amounts of good quality tea, and use in personal bottles, we have set the teabag specifications to 2g-2.5g (for 250ml-500ml of hot water), which is ideal for individual use.

●Environmentally friendly

Globally, approximately 80% of collected plastic waste is currently landfilled or discarded into nature (oceans, etc.).

Our "Tea of Earth and Water" uses biodegradable biomass plastic for the teabag material. This material decomposes to a molecular level through the action of microorganisms, eventually becoming carbon dioxide and water, and circulating back into nature.

It has long been said that "organic tea is not delicious." Using chemical fertilizers and pesticides together to grow tea is, in a sense, necessary to nourish the tea and produce delicious tea.

However, thanks to the efforts and ingenuity of producers, delicious organic tea can now be cultivated, and the market has seen an increase in organic loose leaf tea products. Nevertheless, many households do not own a kyusu (teapot), and there is a demand for convenient teabag-style products rather than loose leaf tea. Teabag products need to be mass-produced by machines to keep costs down, but organically grown tea inherently has a low production volume, making it difficult to secure a stable supply of raw materials. This has resulted in a scarcity of mass-produced organic teabag products in the market. That is why we aimed to develop and deliver organic teabag products that allow everyone to easily enjoy the natural bitterness and aroma of tea, and so we proceeded with development.

Our factory acquired ISO 22000 certification in 2022 and newly introduced manufacturing equipment in 2023, establishing a system capable of handling small-lot teabag production, which made this product possible.

This tea is carefully nurtured by natural soil and water without relying on chemical fertilizers or pesticides. However, that alone isn't enough to differentiate it from other organic teas. To catch the customer's eye, package design is also crucial. We incorporated a different aesthetic from before, opting for a natural and simple Nordic-inspired color scheme with a white base, which is unusual in the Japanese tea industry. The large expanse where small sprouts emerge is depicted with multiple layers of earthy brown and watery blue colors, representing the image of sprouts growing through the power of the soil and water.
