What is Ichibancha (First Flush Tea)?

"Ichibancha" refers to the first new shoots picked during the tea harvesting season.

Japanese tea is generally harvested several times a year (about 2 to 4 times, depending on the region). Among these, Ichibancha, harvested in spring from late April to May, consists of the softest and most nutrient-rich new shoots from tea plants that have slowly accumulated nutrients over winter.
