What is Ichibancha?
"Ichibancha" refers to the first buds picked during the tea harvest season.
Japanese tea is generally picked several times a year (2-4 times depending on the region). The first tea, harvested in the spring from late April to May, is the softest and most nutritious new shoots that emerge from the tea plants, which have carefully stored up nutrients over the winter.
