●Suitable for personal use and small-volume demand

In recent years, with the trend towards individuals choosing their own tea even within the home, and the increase in elderly households, the demand for boiling large amounts of tea in a teapot or kettle, as was traditional, is declining.Taking into consideration the desire to drink good tea in small amounts and the use of personal bottles, we have made the tea bags 2g to 2.5g in size (for 250ml to 500ml of hot water), which is ideal for individual use.

●Environmental considerations

Currently, approximately 80% of the plastic waste collected around the world is dumped into landfills or the natural environment (oceans, etc.).

Earth and Water Tea uses biodegradable biomass plastic for its tea bags. This material decomposes down to the molecular level through the action of microorganisms, eventually becoming carbon dioxide and water that are then circulated back into nature.

It has long been said that organic tea is not tasty. The combined use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in tea cultivation is necessary in order to provide nutrients to the tea and produce delicious tea.

However, thanks to the efforts and ingenuity of producers, it is now possible to produce delicious tea even from organic farms, and the number of organic leaf tea products on the market is increasing. However, many households do not have a teapot, and there is a demand for convenient tea bag products rather than leaf tea. Tea bag products need to be mass-produced by machine to keep costs down, but organic tea production is low to begin with, and it is difficult to secure a stable amount of raw materials, so there are currently few organic tea bag products on the market that are difficult to mass-produce. This is why we began development, wanting to provide everyone with organic tea bag products that allow them to easily enjoy the astringency and aroma of tea as naturally as possible.

Our own factory will obtain ISO 22000 certification in 2022, and in 2023 we will install new manufacturing equipment, establishing a system that will enable us to handle small-scale production of tea bags, making this product possible.

This tea is grown carefully and slowly from natural soil and water without relying on chemical fertilizers or pesticides. However, that alone is not enough to differentiate it from other organic teas. In order to catch the customer's eye, the package design is also important. We have adopted a different taste from the past, using a natural and simple Scandinavian color scheme with a white base, which is rare in the Japanese tea industry. The large plateau from which the small sprouts emerge is layered with the brown of the soil and the color of the water, expressing the image of the sprouts emerging from their power.
