Baked sweet potatoes are a seasonal autumn treat. Even supermarkets have a corner dedicated to baked sweet potatoes, and they are gaining attention as a Japanese sweet. With the desire to create a tea that goes perfectly with sweet potatoes, we set about developing a "tea specifically for sweet potatoes."
After extensive consideration by our tea masters and Japanese tea instructors, we found that hojicha, with its fragrant aroma and flavor, was the best match for the deliciousness of sweet potatoes.By blending "roasted tea sticks," which are made by carefully roasting the stems of tea leaves, which have an especially mellow sweetness and richness and are said to have nearly four times the aroma of the leaves, with fragrant "roasted rice," we created a layered aroma.
The moist texture of the sweet potato and its rich, natural sweetness are perfectly matched with its fragrant aroma. This tea also goes well with sweet potato treats, such as baked sweet potatoes, Japanese sweets with sweet potato paste, simple dried sweet potatoes, and snacks.
How to drink deliciously
Pour 150cc to 200cc of hot water over one tea bag, then remove the tea bag after about one minute and drink.
It's also delicious when steeped in water.
